There seems to be no difference between the e60 and e61 sideskirts, they have identical partnumbers. However, vehicles with panoramic sunroofs do have different partnumbers, that might be something to look in to. Perhaps drain related...

The difference in the PNs is because some E61s come with the pull rods stock for extra body rigidity. These rods require a notch to be cut out of the bottom of the sideskirt. I know because my replica sideskirts did not have this and required manual notching. Lengthwise they are the same. (Well in the replica case, still 2mm too short. Haha!)

Good news and bad news to my car mod buddies out there.
Good news: I bought a BEAUTIFUL E61 with 65k miles on it. I am in love! Not a scratch on it and I own a BMW repair shop so maintenance and repair is not really an issue.
Bad News: seven days after purchasing the vehicle, I was hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light and struck... My E61. Literally ripped off the whole front-end.
Good news: I planned to replace the whole front end just like M3This did. And now insurance will be paying for it.
The question now is whether or not my frame is damaged.
I am SO sad about this but counting my blessings that I am okay and I'd it were a split second difference, I would have been in the hospital with the car totaled. My guardian angel was definitely watching over me.
Drunk driver went to jail BTW.
So stay tuned and I'll start a new thread to show the progress of my E61 as she matures in to the true beauty that she can be!
Mst of all I want to thank M3This for inspiring this new project. Actually, MOST of all I want to tank God for protecting me and His grace.
I'll post pix of the wreck tomorrow morning.

Glad that you're OK which makes the state of the car somewhat insignificant but still... What a shame. Hope you'll get her up and running again!

Here's the pix. Insurance adjuster will be here tomorrow to give the estimate. I"m guessing $8,000. The headlights alone are about $1,700 each...

You're absolutely correct, Theo. I'm just fortunate that I'm okay and the car really doesn't matter. It's actually a big bonus that the car is salvageable. Just a split second difference and I would not have walked away...
