Default Looking to buy a 535 touring this weekend.....some questions regarding PDC retrofit

I'm going to be checking out a 535 msport this weekend and all signs seem to be leading to a purchase. The only options the car doesnt have that would be nice (for me) are HUD, comfort access, and PDC. The latter option is the only one I really wish the car had, more for the wife. The former options are not worth the retrofit cost and headache (for me).

I've researched this site and others regarding retrofitting factory PDC. It seems all mtech bumper covers are designed to accept the larger pre LCI sensors? It also seems the mtech bumper cover uses a mounting method that requires the part to be moulded to accept the sensors? In other words you can't just buy the mounting clips and drill the hole in the cover like you can with non-mtech bumper covers?

I just stumbled across this post on another forum. If anyone can confirm or dispute the above, please let me know.

I've been quietly reading and searching the meesage boards for a few weeks now. I hope to do SAT retrofit and a rear camera retrofit as well. I will also likely lower the front end and run a mild tune after making sure the mechanicals are sound (water pump, walnut blast, plugs, etc) ......all discussion for a later date.

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't bother with retrofitting the PDC. Install a backup camera instead.

Default Good point.

I've been reading some more and have noticed the consensus seems that the camera is much more helpful than the sensors and much less expense and less risk of screwing up the bumper covers.

Thanks for the input!
