I have been having issues with the key FOB lock/unlock. On many occasions I have to manually lock/unlock the car which works. However, lately I discovered that opening the rear glass and closing it again will get the FOB key working again. What is the relationship between the rear glass switch and the FOB key?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The problem is most likely broken wires leading from the rear of the car to the diversity module on the top of the rear glass (under the spoiler). When you open/close the rear glass, it might restore connectivity temporarily. The diversity module controls the key FOB operation.
Your best bet is to examine the bundle of wires on the right side hinge going to the rear glass. Remove the right rear speaker on the roof of the car and pull the wires through there to find the break(s). There are other threads that explain this process in detail.
