Yep. That 535d IS remapped. Video link was posted before on this forum, I think.

However, what the video drives home to me is that the driver makes a hell of a difference... never mind the noise.
Well, 2 things make a big difference - the driver and the suspension. As I understand it, Andy Bovensiepen was driving the B5 and he's pretty useful around the 'Ring, having won the 24hr race there in the past (in a 320d!), so the 535d didn't have a driver advantage. The suspension on the 535d may well have been modified to make it more suitable for the track - the B5's suspension really isn't up to track work, nor is the tyre setup - not enough front-end bite.

I strongly suspect the B5 wasn't going full tilt on that lap - might have been an outlap, or just a shakedown.

Watched the DVD of last year's Uniroyal Fun Cup last night and now I'm itching to get back in a racing car!

I just took a 535d Tourer for a test drive and... wow, its a beast! I am definatly getting one!

Any speed, any gear, any conditions and it just goes - i struggled to keep it below 100mph on the test drive! I know it will just keep powering on until it hits the limiter!

I am also shocked by the suspension - the Sports suspension with RFTs is a smoother ride than my current 'normal' suspension with RFTs? How does that work out?

I am really kicking myself got getting a 525d NON sports now.

Now, where do i sign...
DMS is magical on an all ready magic car. When I drive mine I always think if I could go any faster I would be out of control. Ya
