The general rule in Germany, in addition to waiting until the snow is gone, is to swap back to Summer tyres when the average temperature is above 7 degrees. From what I have been told, above 7 degress the summer tyres grip better than the winter tyres. Not sure how true this is, but its another useful means of working out whether its the right time or not.

today I talked to a friend of mine, he works in a tyre shop and he told me there's plenty of people woh want's to swap from winter to summer wheels..
I think it's quite dangerous to let you encourage by the first summer sunbeams.
In Germany you get punished very hard if you cause an accident or are only involved in an accident if the weather deserves winter tyres and you have summer tyres on..

Same up here + that in Sweden there is a law that stipulates that you need to have winter tires on until a certain date (different for different parts of the country). And after that date, you can still be responsible for an accident if you under "winter conditions" drive with summer tires on. In other words - you need to be d**n sure the winter is gone for good when you put the summer tires on!
