Get a good charger like the CTEK 4.3 with a reconditioning ability and that battery will be much better off. Almost mandatory with BMWs, with their little electrical gremlins causing parasitic losses. I just replaced my IBS.

Take out your plugs and check for gas soaking. Could be a leaking injector, among a 100 other things.

the check engine light for the 29e1 code disappeared on its own. I ran the water pump again, I get heat through the window defroster setting, the foot well setting and the driver side vent. However the passenger side vent blows cold.

There's a thread on the passenger side vent blowing cold here - https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...problem-36474/ There may be some ideas for you to look at. I've never had this issue myself.
