my 06 535d touring is running on run flats, when I got a puncture the alert was unspecific to which tyre, does that mean I have FTM?

I'm about to put some 19" 166 wheels on and need to know if I need tyre pressure monitors to fit to them?

Thanks.

Sounds like you have FTM instead of TPM. My 2006 also has FTM. I believe TPM came out in model year 2007 although I'm not sure starting with which build month. FTM only gives you a general flat tire warning and you have to go physically check the tires. TPM will tell you which tire is flat cause there are individual TPM sensors (TPMS) in each tire.

I retrofitted TPMS on my 5er. At first I thought it was another one of those " Oh yeah now I have it, but where's the help" kind of device until....

It was a typical morning stepping into my car as usual until a long beeping sound alerts me. It was the TPMS alerting low pressure. I set it to be 230kpi minimum and there it was. Getting out to look at it looks no different from the others. Now this is great help and I pump it up. I guess I could always appreciate a silent worker in the background. By the way, I hide the panel in the hidden compartment under the light switch.

it only costed me 140USD to have it shipped and an additional 40 to have it installed on my 166s.
