Just managed to grab some genuine M5 mirrors on eBay

My e61 doesn't have folding or even dipping mirrors, so what will I need to get for them to work?

Appreciate I might need something coding via Autologic, but what else will I need?

Congrats on the M5 mirrors. These really change the look of your E61, IMHO, more so than on an E60.

Hopefully, you bought the correct mirrors for your year model. Otherwise, they will not work...

There are a bunch of threads about the folding option/activation, what it requires, if it is possible. Search.

FWIW, I bought mirrors that had all the options, but since my 2005 is missing some light module (I can't remember which one), the mirrors do not fold. However, they are heated and they auto-dim.

If you tell me what year your car is, and what type of M5 mirrors you bought I'll be able to tell you what to do.

You also need to decide if you want to do things the OEM way or aftermarket/hacking is fine.

DOH! Turns out they aren't genuine - I didn't read the description properly

Have contacted the seller straightaway and hope he hasn't sent them out yet.

Drat.

Managed to get hold of the looms and switch panel so when I do find the right mirrors it will be an easier job!

I'll be in touch Bruce - cheers mate
