It's R?da Sten....;-) And yes, I'm a bit flattered.

Fines have been adjusted upwards to be more in sync with rest of Europe but I still think we have some way to go to match France.

It's getting time to visit Sweden and unleash the car. How about' fines for speeding. I heard somewhere
that these can be horrible. or is that only in Finland? (income variable fines).

After all: where do you live?

Oh and by the way: I saw in your gallery the pict. Gota Sten, it's my wallpaper.
Dom't feel flattered, as soon I get my E61 I will replace it.

Greets from Holland.

Okay, visited my dealer considering some little changes on the car.

"Sorry, can't change anything anymore, production is scheduled for week 13, delivery march 30th."

Well that is good news, but now the bad news: the advanced airco and 17" wheels are still an option. Grrrr

Strange, I bought mine in Holland, but I made my last mods "THE DAY BEFORE PRODUCTION". The week after the changes, the car arrived at the garage.

I thing it's lazyness of the sales guy....

Eddy; Where in the Nehterlands do you live? Small counrty, hence the question from which dealership you ordered, BMW den Haag, Van Poelgest or Van Dijk..???

I myself have the 525d (old 2499cc engine), whereas you have ordered the new version with the same engien as the 530d (2945cc) - nice potential for tuning :>

Yes, very expensive with the VAT + BPM, thats why I bought mine with BN-kennteken :>. 50% disscount. Not really fair, but i really hope that the EU will force Holland to drop, or at least lower the 45% luxurytax. It is only Denmark and Holand which still have these a.c luxurytaxes.

The scary thing is, that my 'taxfree' purchaseprice including options is very close to the Swedish price - inclusive tax!!!!!! Did someone mention something about a UNION...??:>

Tegel; Are you from the Gothenburg area???

Scirranio; I saw from you ID-info that you had som experience from KEMPOWER tuning i Belgium. Have you already/or planned to tune you 530XD there. Anything you would recommend.....?????

I actually had an appointment with them which I cancelled. I was now planning to do a new appoinment. Any good or bad thing in relation to KEMPOWER, there work, etc????

That's right. I have experience with Kempower. I've done already 8 cars and super sattisfied.
I'm waiting until the car has 5000 km to go to Kempower. The achieve around 290 hp on the 530(x)d.

Any quotes for the new 525d (maybe 235 hp/500nm???) (equal to 530d)
Acc. to the salesrep the new 525d engine is mechanically different (smaller turbo/pistons etc.) as the 530d.

Is it?

I doubt the basic mechanicals are different, exactly the same displacement... Maybe different turbo/ECU tune.

Well, if it's only ECU mapping, it clears the way for serious tuning like 272hp/560nm.(as the 530d could be tuned to 535d numbers)
BTW, i read the sept. issue of BMW car. In it was an article about DMS automotive and reviews were at least very good on their job.
Any experience with them?
