1 of the multiple orders of parts I am waiting on arrived, this one included primarily a bunch of goodies for the engine rebuild.
Timing chain, cogs, crank hub and bolt, turbo return lines, serpentine belt, oil pan hardware, various seals, and clutch switch wiring.

Evan do you have any pictures or advice on the no.7 bars from the cars with panoramic sunroof, I want to retro fit these (I don't have a sunroof) but I don't seem to have the holes where the side skirts are, did you have to cut your side skirts? Are there holes underneath?
Thanks,
Jon

Post 97 on page 10, the bars you painted black!
I only just realised your car has a panoramic roof, thought they were a retro fit.
Can you tell me if there are holes in your side skirts for the bars to bolt to the body?

So the oem E61 pull rods you are inquiring about required the skirts to be cut to fit. Those skirts were from a 535i M-sport and didn't have any holes. A dremel solved that.
Evan
Ok cool, so we're the skirts flush over the top of the holes! I.e you wouldn't know they were there?
I need to find out if mine has the holes as it came without panoramic roof but they could just be under the skirts.....

Back to work on the wagon.
Even with the engine out of the vehicle cleaning the valves is still one of the least enjoyable things to do on these N54 powered cars...

I still can't visualise this, do you please have a photo to were they mount?
Unless I don't have the holes I can only see they are hidden by the skirt?
Thanks, jon.
