Hi all!

I have an E61 525, produced in march so it has LM1.
I'v bougth an LM2, not installed yet.
Cable kit I bougth from BMW.
LCI rear ligths I bought on Ebay.

So i went to my garage and started removing all 4 "old" lights, really easy job.
Then I installed the "new" LCI ligths.
So how big was the surprise when I was ready to connect the "new" lights!?
The cable kit set one is supposed to use to convert from old to new connectors was not needed.
The LCI ligths was just to plug in and everything worked!?

Well, thats not all true....all exept the LED bars.
I thought that this extra wire was for the LED bars, but somehow it has been working like this on the car it came from!?
This is what i thougth i had to do: LCI_UPDATE.pdf

And now I'm reading in all forums to try to understand, but it seem like I'm the only
one with LCI lights with old connectors?


Any idea what to do anyone?

those LCI are Chinse ones not OEM ,, that's why it comes with PRe-LCI connector ..

return it back and buy an original set ..

Thank you both for helping out!
I doubth that seller on Ebay from Latvia will take them back :/
But since they'r already on the car now, and I have to install the LM2 anyway.
Do you guys think its possible to make the led bars work with proper coding?
All the other ligths is working fine, and actually looks good too...

yes , check my thread for LCI retrofit in DIY section ( too lazy to search for it ) , LM2 codes are there .,,, have a look at it and see if you can come up with the correct coding ...
