Hi everybody,
And so it begins....
Got my car just a couple of days ago, already started thinking of mods.
A stereo upgrade is top prio since the standard item (BMW Business CD)is not up to par with the rast of the car.
So does anyone out there have some nice stereo upgrades done in the e61?
Regards
Daniel

I have the Hifi pkt in my car and is quite happy with it..and sounds alot better then standard!
I think the easiest/cheapest way to upgrade is to change the speakers, but I think they are in not so common ohm..??
Ask your lokal carsound dealer and he will know.

I didn't go for HiFI pack either and now I'm thinking same as you. It would be nice to know if someone has change the standard speakers and how much better it can get by that simple(?) way.
I'll let you know how it turns out !

The speakers as such are quite easy to replace, but in order get a more "full" sound picture you also need to change the amplifier. If I understand this correct the amplifier is in the back of the car to the left, no matter which system you have (except standard maybe...?). My amplifier for the DIRAC is seen if I open the left "lid" och peek in to the right.
