Default E61 Sidelights - angel eyes

Hello,

I was wondering whether anyone could help me

One of the side lights, the angel eyes, on my car blew the other day. It is the LCI model, late 2007 and it has the lights surrounded by the brown cone reflector. I took it to the bulb shop and they didn't have any exact replacement for the 10w BA9's which were in there, so he gave me 20W. These worked for about 5 minutes before showing an error and not working. The bulbs don't look to have blown but either way, they don't work. So I went online and bought some 10W bulbs and the same happened again.

The trouble I had is that I had to break open the brown cone to remove the bulb as the plastic runners were melted onto the cone. The headlights are Xenon and I have been told that the sidelights are different for Xenon / Halogen models. So, have I been buying Halogen - type bulbs even though it was an exact replacement for what I took out, or is it that i've damaged the brown reflector in replacing them?

Any help would be apreciated as to what bulb I should have, or where I can get a replacement?

thanks

Default These worked for me

Hi - I switched to LED on my 2006, which look nicer and may be the right replacement for what you are looking for.
I bought these:
docooler 2 * 5W White High Power LED Angel Eye for BMW E39/E53/E60/E61/E64/E65/E66/E87: Amazon.ca: Electronics docooler 2 * 5W White High Power LED Angel Eye for BMW E39/E53/E60/E61/E64/E65/E66/E87: Amazon.ca: Electronics
I reckon the equivalent should be available in the UK at a reasonable price.
No guarantees, but could be worth the $50 to try, unless someone here can already confirm this will not work...

Hi,

I bought something similar to what pallokerho suggested. I had to reset the Light control module by disconnecting it for a few minutes and now they work fine and llok great
