Diversity Module Wiring to Rear Hatch
Could someone please tell me how to open up the wiring areas between the rear hatch and the upper rear body? Also, where does the wiring go to above the rear headliner - how far in from the rear hatch seal, etc.
I have a new Diversity Antenna Module on the way, but want to check for wiring problems at the same time.
Thanks in advance
Gary

It's worth noting that I managed to fix my own diversity amplifier with no great difficulty, so if you're at all electrically minded, it's worth a go :-)

Regarding opening the metal wiring conduits, you need to remove the plastic plug that holds it into the tailgate hinge (these have a central plastic "pin" that you push out from the *opposite* end with something thin). Once this is done, the loom should be loose and you can then brute-force the metal conduit apart with a screwdriver. Don't be shy here - it takes a little force to separate the two halves :-)

Does someone have a link to a tutorial for checking the wire looms in the rear hinges? I know I saw one somewhere in the hundreds of forum threads I've read, but can't find it now that I think this might be my problem.
Key not working, new battery in remote. When I use the hard key the alarm does NOT go off. The spoiler looked dry as a bone inside, but I'm going to open up the actual antenna tomorrow to see I find the same corrosion.
I downloaded the fuse diagram linked in this thread and it definitely does not match my car. I've got a 2006 530xi wagon. This is my first BMW and I'm a DIYer and this fob thing is wearing me out.
*** Never mind. Found it. Although maybe someone can answer this question. When talking about the right and left side does this mean if you're looking at the car from the rear or from the front? Thanks.

I bought a car with a whole load of electrical issues. wiring in the hatch loom was only a minor part of them. My key fob didn't work, my bluetooth was dead, XM radio inoperative, battery was draining, and alternator was unable to make enough power. I have a lot of experience with this system now.
