Default E61 535i touring lpfp help!!!

Need help!!! E61 535i wagon is reading 88psi at idle. I have to turn the car off and on a few times for it to actually go back to reading at 72.5psi. Does anyone know why this would be happening and how to fix this issue?

A lot of important info is missing. Is it causing an issue? The pressure is controlled by the DME. If it's not causing an issue then let it be. If it's bothering you then it sounds like it's time for a new pump assembly. Are you tuned or anything? Has the pump been replaced before? When did this start happening?

It isn't necessarily causing an issue but I have had the pump fail on me prior, causing me to have to sit and wait about 10 minutes before ut wiuld turn over again. This happened twice about 6 months ago. Also the car is running an mhd stage 1 tune, it's running on 93 only. Pump has never been replaced to my knowledge., funny how you said " sounds like it's time for a new pump assembly", cause I was thinking to myself would that actually fix my issue?

Was it having the issue before the tune? I would remove the tune to see if it makes a difference
