Thanks!

Noticed a few things:

POSITIVE:
1. The car is very silent compared to e39
2. The car feels very light and agile compared to e39 (or any other car...)
3. The RFT wheels are very good, stable and quiet. Even on our shitty asphalt.
4. The luggage cover is now fully automatic, up and down.
5. The iDrive is fantastic. What is everybody complaining about.
6. I love the sun roof.
7. The fit and finish in the cabin is perfect. BMW have really improved since 2003/2004. This is better than Merc and much more beautiful than Audi.
8. Maple Anthracite is gorgeous.
9. Night illumination in cockpit fantastic.
10. The engine is completely quiet when driving. Feels a bit like a taxi in town, especially over speed bumps (rrrrrrrr..............rrrrrrrrrrrr............... .rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........)
11. The cabin is very much bigger than e39, lots of space and air.
12. The exterior is a stroke of genius, the car looks more like some kind of fusion between aircraft and organic life forms. The LED:s in the front lights are so cool that it hurts.
13. The cruise control logic must be the best currently on the market.
14. Business radio, although deemed shitty, has much better sound than e39 Business. Good enough for me.
15. The overall impression of quality + advanced engineering is striking on every level of the user experience.
16. Shadowline high gloss is a must
17. The M chassis is very comfortable and at the same time sucks the car to the tarmac. Amazing.

NEGATIVE:
1. I liked the sport seats in the e39 more. They were slimmer snd hugged more.
2. Radio reception seems a tad weaker than e39 in tunnels, garages and such.
3. I want to floor it but will wait for 2000 km before I do (already made 100......)

Just wondering: how are noise and wind levels inside the car when you have both parts of the panoramic sunroof wide open?
This huge sunroof is a must-have option with a touring, I suppose - because it looks fantastic!

Noise is quite....loud. But OK. If both parts are open, air starts to "boom" at about 80 km/h. With one part open, booming sound is no problem but of course the wind is still noisy.

It's really lovely to have light from above even when the glass is closed. And to hear birds, people everything while cruising in the city or slowly in the countryside, almost like a convertible, when the glass is open. Today I got a tan returning from work, inside my car.

Love it.

Went for an afternoon swim today in the outskirts of Gothenburg. 40 km, city + highway + country roads. The iPod shuffle, connected through AUX in the rear centre console, was dishing out crystal clear sound (the trick is to ramp up the iPod volume to max, then it will match the FM volume), kids were peeking at aircraft and birds through the sunroof and I made a small test on fuel consumption. Remember, the car i 3 days old, Steptronic and has 18" wheels.

The result? Look at the picture. Completely amazing economy.

Congratulation for the beautiful wagon.
