Hi everybody,

I have 4x 166style M5 with 245/35/19, very very good MICHELIN Pilot Sport.

I'm very happy, only problem is that you have to be very carefull when you park your car : bloody kerb make a lot of dammages !!

Just a refelxion: has somebody tried the 255/35/19 already ?

Luckily not with the Alpina rims. They seems to be a bit narrower or somehow different. However I am a bit fed up with this wide rims and will put on sale the 19" Alpina rims soon and go back to the OEM 18". The Michalin Pilot Sports offer ZERO rim protection. I had them on my E60s' M166s and had the same problems you have. For my M172s, I opted for Dunlop SportMaxx because the tyre sticks out a little just where it meets the rim lip, so it offers some protection for the rim. The Dunlops don't handle quite as good as the Michalins, but its a matter of very good compared to outstanding

IMHO do not go for 255/35/19s!! The wheel-wall height is too high (35% of 255 instead of 35% of 245), which means you don't get that low-profile look and the "tractor wheel" effect.

So its the tyre type which is probably causing you the problem, not the tyre size.
