Just checking if anyone has done this, and if so, what are your thoughts on performance and quality?

Thanks,

Eric

Are there airbag kits for the front? I am unaware of it. Are you thinking on an E61 or on your M635?

The kits I've seen look like the have new air system and shocks for all 4 corners:

Definitely for the e61, not the e24.. I'm not dead set on an air suspension, but need to replace my front struts and was thinking of replacing the springs at the same time since I have seen multiple cases of spring failure so I was curious how an air suspension would compare, but wanted to hear some real world experience.

Thanks,

Eric

Replacing springs (which fail almost never) with an airbag system (which will always fail eventually) is kind of like buying a lifted Jeep without a swaybar to replace a Volvo station wagon, for safety. ;-)

Being able to adjust the front ride height might be slightly cool, but I suspect the novelty would wear off soon and who knows how it would affect the ride quality (something the E61 is known for).

FYI, that kit you linked to is for RWD and all north american E61s have xDrive so you would have to do a RWD conversion most-likely.

Could be the starting point for a great zombie apocalypse bugout wagon project - those airbag kits have impressive height adjustability - too bad this kit isn’t xdrive compatible.
