there are no errors in inpa for the alarm and not sure i even saw the dwa module (will have another look tomorrow) but seeing as the error log in ncs states it cant communicate with it then i dont see why inpa would.
If i knew where it was id have a look incase damaged or damp etc.

just out of interest, the error log states DWA_E65 at the end of each line. Could that mean that the dwa was changed out for 1 from an e65 and has not been coded. ??

No it's using the E65 IPO file which is common in E60/61s. If you are sure you're connected correctly and connection configuration is correct then the module is either unplugged or dead. Look in your rear passenger wheel well right behind the bumper and check it. You'll have to pull the bumper away on that side to get to it.

found the siren in the rear drivers side wheel well not the passenger side. there is only 1 isn't there as this one is sealed so defo doesn't have a backup battery in it. 2 of the wires were broken but even after fixing it still does not work.

How I would handle the situation: look in INPA and test module. What screen were you looking at for codes in INPA. There has to be be codes.

A previous owner messed something up or neglected an issue. If the alarm is that important you need to start testing things in INPA to point you in the right direction

i did the normal error test in inpa (functional jobs) and there are no codes relating to the alarm at all. Tried to error read just on the alarm system and just had an error. Even after putting the new siren in. I did the window open test as the clown nose doesn't light up and there was nothing. Tried to run a read on the dwai and dwas modules but just came up with error reading module. Went to identification in inpa but the dwai, dwas modules do not appear. I'm pretty new to inpa so if I'm doing something wrong then please tell me. I've been searching the internet for weeks now trying to solve this. I'm one of those people that like things to be as they should so will fix everything on the car that needs doing. (plus I enjoy working on them)

this is the cable i have. not sure whether button should be up or down though.

INPA SHOWS THE DWAI AND DWAS MODULES
