Hi
I noticed that these figures are missing from the BMW website. According to car and driver, the 50-75 times are 4.4 seconds:

does anyone know the'official' figures?
Cheers,

My Ride: (E60) 535D M-Sport (DMS)
Excellent, let's open up that can of worms again
So the 535D is quicker than the 550i so must be quicker than the 545i & making it also quicker than the M3 & perhaps even the M5. Loving it.
That must also mean the DMS 535D is quicker than just about everything

I was only after the figures!
Mind you, BMW don't seem to publish official 50-75 times for the M5 either....
(though the figures on the BMW site are included for the 550i touring Sport: 5.4secs).

Seriously though - it is strange as BMW like other German brands are generally known for publicising in gear acceleration times, since they recognise that this is more of a factor for on road performance than top speed and 0-60's.
Is it possible that they simply forgot to measure the 50-75 for the 535d and the M5 - or are there more sinister forces at work here?

But only if no-one changes gear.....which is tricky in a steptronic....

What do you mean - this thread was about the in gear times being missing from the bmw.co.uk website.

Unless your doing motorway driving these are useless. So what if my 530d is quicker in 4th from 80-120km/h than
a cayenne turbo... Does that mean i wont get pounded...no

in gear times always favour cars with turbos, especially diesels. I can only give you 80-120km/h times

Since 95% of my milage is on motorways (like a great many other people) then these stats are far from useless for me and give me a real impression of how quick a car will feel in everyday use.
Seriously - in the UK the chances of really letting rip drag race style without getting arrested are pretty much zero, so this is one of the only ways to enjoy a 'fast' car on the road.
10-120KM/H is the same interval (near enough), so I'd still be interested to see the stats for the M5 and the 535d.
Why do YOU think BMW have left them off the UK site - I think it's pretty strange.
