My Ride: 2003 BMW 325i (E46) Touring with Sport Package 2007 BMW 503xi (E61) Touring wtih M-sport package
Default

Here's my new ride, 2007 530xi Touring with M-sport package, 6 speed manual. Silver grey with auburn interior. It's awesome, moved up from an E46 wagon with sport package. More luxury, comfort and space. New engine is fantastic: smooth, refined, torquey and quiet. Plenty of power and great gas mileage (11.8 km/100 km city). xDrive is transparent. iDrive is OK to use, you get used to it, but more frequently used functions like vent settings and stereo (CD-to-FM, etc.) should be accessed by manual buttons on the dash. Panorama sunroof is great. Run flat Goodyear Eagle NCTs are fine. Lots of talk on forums about poor ride because of run flats, but honestly, the ride is very nice. Interior is nice, though the aluminum pure cube trim is a bit garrish. Note that the M-sport package here in Canada deletes the roof rails. Was a bit concerned but the look is nice and sleek. Also the ride height (gap between tires and wheel well) was a concern (didn't like the high ride height of previous AWD BMWs), but this car's is acceptable. Would have preferred a non-xDrive 530 wagon, since with 4 dedicated snow tires, winter driving here in Calgary, Alberta is not a problem. Will get 4 snows for the winter, interested to see how the xDrive will perform. Wagons are the best: practical, sporty, fun to drive. Any other fellow Canadians with the M-sport pack on their 530xi wagons?
