Hi,
Please can someone help me out?
I need to change my headlamp units because I am permanently moving from the right to the left hand side of the road!
I have a 2004 525i touring left hand drive with 'normal' i.e. not Xenon lights.
These are my questions?
1. Are the mounts and car spec the same for both types of unit. i.e. can I replace them with Xenons if I wish, or do I have to replace like with like?
2. E60 [this is what I need right?] headlight units all have the same mountings regardless of year of manufacture?
3. Is it an easy job for someone with a modicum of engineering ability?
Thanks for your advice!
BB

Hi BB. I don't quite understand why you feel you need to change out your headlights just because you're moving to another country where drivers drive on the opposite side. After all, you're not changing your steering wheel position!
To answer your questions though:
1. The mounts might be the same for all pre LCI cars (E60 prior to 2008), but the Xenon's require more electronics (ballasts, etc.) and are not just plug and play.
2. Ditto what I said for #1.
3. This thread might lend some insight: https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...upgrade-42875/

P.S Maybe your first comment was tongue-in-check, but putting other road users asides in order for Brian to be registered in the UK he needs the correct headlights
