Has anybody done their rear brake pads? If so is it fairly easy with limited tools? It was fairly easy on my K1200RS. Didn't even have to remove the caliper on the rear wheel. Also any suggestions on brand and where to buy would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

How about which brand of brake pads is preferred, stock or aftermarket?

My Ride: 2007 530xiT: CPO purchase in 2008, used by a BMW exec previously, and like-new when I got it. Compared to my other cars, at first I thought it felt heavy and steering was too heavy. Now, I really enjoy driving it in town and on the freeway. On my

if you want to go to an informative consumer-friendly site with fair prices, try bavauto.com. there are plenty of car parts stores on-line but bavauto seems to go the extra mile and be very educational about the parts you're shopping for

Thanks Bob. I'll check it out. Just ordered a repair manual and getting ready to change the rear brake pads.

I have changed my rear pads and its not a big job, actually its a bit scary how similar it is to my earlier cars, from 80`s and 90`s.
I think its 2 bolts ond the calliper, remove the clip in front, that i find a little tricky, losen the calliper and voila change pads.
I think cleaning the calliper i importent and use some pasta to aviod squiking from the brakes.

maybe i forgot something, but it`s easy.

Thanks for the help but are you sure I should use pasta on the brake pads?
