Congratulations on your successfull SAT conversion.
Regarding your paddles, check the following:
EGS Paddles coded to WERT_01 ?
Check the wires by doing a continuity test using a multimeter between the wires from SZL to EBOX and the ground wire from SZL to earth.
Which paddle wheel are you using standard SAT (push/pull) or M5 one with resistor wiring mod?

Thanks Lee.
I'm sure Paddles are Wert_01. But I will check that again tomorrow.
The gearbox seems happy if clicked over into DS or manual mode. Which makes me wonder about the coding as it's not kicking out which I'm sure I've read it does if its a wiring issue.
I'm using standard SAT push pull wheel.
I'll check continuity tomorrow after checking coding.
I've looked for the SIB with the testing procedure for the paddles (i.e. voltages that should be shown under the bonnet) but I can't find it now.

So bizarre.
Processed whole vehicle and 1 ecu failed so it didn;t complete.
Processed the SZL to make sure that was with the program.
Still no paddles.
Checked voltages at the connector I put in near the wheel and had good earth and +5v.
Found in DIS that you can check signals coming from things and found the shift paddles under SZL.
No worky.
Checked coding of EGS for paddles and it had reverted to WERT_00
But that could have been because I;d processed the whole car.
Set to 01.
Still no worky.
Getting bored by now so checked the coding of the steering wheel and there is an M sport steering wheel set to nicht aktiv.
Mine is a sport. So I set it to aktiv.
Still couldn;t get any joy.
Went for a drive and the paddles work...
But backward. So push for gear down and pull for gear up..
seems wrong to me..

Hoorah.
A March 2007 530d LCi with SAT.
It's taking some getting used to but it does go now.
Never really noticed how lazy the gear changes were until now.

Of course that was on a private track!!!
Where did you code "M Sports Wheel Aktiv"?
Press to drop a gear is the same way as on the gear lever i.e. Push forwards to go down a gear.
To be honest it feels wrong to me, but that's we way BMW have done it for a long time.
Oh and BTW well done

Of course. My parents have a very long private drive. I wouldn't go that fast on public roads.
I think the m sport wheel was in the SZL.
I'll check in a while.
Mine is a very early LCi so maybe that is why it was turned off and I had some trouble getting everything working.
Who knows.
So glad it works now. It's pretty cool.. But the fuel consumption has suffered. I sometimes hit the down shit just because I can
