Why??
My monthly Mileage has gone up to between 2000-3000 & is no longer condusive with running an M5. High Mileage M5's are slated when it comes to re-sale so i'm moving out before it gets too high.

Got a 997 Turbo on order for March 2008, so i'll be back in something fast before too long.

Not sure what i'll replace the M5 with. A used 330d or the new 335i or 335d are possible along with many other options.

Sorry to hear that you?re leaving your M5, but I understand your point. Mine is in the garage................
Have had the 330xd for two months now and already have close to 5000 miles on it!!!

Go for a diesel. They are soo good. Really powerful and very comfortable. Excellent mileage also

Had a 535d M-Sport (DMS) before the M5 so may move to a 335d & again visit DMS to spice it up.

Nothing decided for sure yet, just playing things by ear right now.

Please understand, LC is for show & has no real purpose other than the giggle factor. The strains on the engine/gearbox are why this is just for show & why BMW chose to block the possibility of doing back to back LC's.
Weird thing, that... when i used to own an E46 M3 (smgII) i completed 150+ LCs in it, during 2.5 years , and 13200km.

Sometimes id do an LC at each traffic light, and would of course get the gearbox malfunction light, but only on the 5/6th go ...

Pity to see the new transmission is so frail

SMGIII is 30% stronger & 30% quicker than SMGII FACT so nothing more frail about it as it's stronger than II, however lets not forget that SMGIII is coping with close to 200 extra BHP in a bigger heavier car so physics plays its part.

I've done a few & NEVER had a transmission fault displayed. We obviously drive differently as i'd laugh at anyone doing consecutive launches given it's all for show (pi$$ & wind).
