My dealer wants a similar amount. For a BMW warranty (up to 100k miles/6 years):
Platinum = 5,740
Gold = CPO = 5,100
Basic = 3,400
Otherwise he has an aftermarket warranty through Warranty Solutions (from Wells Fargo):
(Equivalent to Gold) = 3,400 for 70k /6 years
There is another company called Carchex that is offering a basic warranty for 2,400.
It?s cheaper but they have maintenance requirements and you need to install Dura Lube Plus products
in the oiling system and insulating washers on the battery terminals.
Has anyone even heard of this company before? What is the best route to take?

since i purchased my 06 m5 a month ago now.. i've been looking forward to the warranty also. I called rallyee bmw in hempstead i believe, and they told me they use fidelity warranty and it would cost me around 7k or so. I asked him whether the SMG was covered and he said NO. Not even under platinum bumper to bumper. He did sound kindda unsure though. I called Fidelity direct and they told me that i have to go through a dealer, i got number for the closest participating dealer to me and they gave me Nemet Hyundai's number. They are on Hillside ave in queens and they quoted me $4728. Already a big 2k plus drop. My 06 Mer is clean w/ 51k miles on it. Time to purchase it either way. I feel scared to drive it w/out a warranty. What are your inputs?
