It takes a while to get used to SMG. After about a month my M3 SMGII felt very natural. Few people dislike it once they get the hang of it.

Glad to hear you are willing to give feedback on your experiences with the car.? I hope you don't limit that to your positive experiences only.

Why not? Sharing negative experiences is just as helpful to anyone and everyone that want to learn more about the car for personal knowledge or because they are prospective buyers, etc.

What's your point or did you not have one?

Nope, I'll tell it like I see it. Right now, SMW is a pain in the #!*. There is definitely a learning curve, and I'm sure I'll like it more with more driving expereience.

Glad you agreed, wolverine.

I'm sure you meant SMG.
Being a manual shift driver myself, I can say that my left foot will always "look" for a clutch when I step into any vehicle without one. It's really funny because I will sometimes end up steping on the brakes.
I'd be willing to bet you're having similar experiences.

LOL I do that. Jumping between a full manual and SMG I sometimes catch myself using the brake as a clutch on start up... only on start up tho luckly... I've never used the brake as a clutch when the car is moving yet I leave my left foot on the dead pedal so I wont accidently use it when moving.

Just a quick update after my 200 mile drive to Columbus. 1000 miles total - only 200 to go! Have my break-in appointment for 9:00 next Thursday morning!

I am now very, very concerned. The car is so effortlessly fast, so absolutely unshakeable, so composed at ridiculous rates of speed and manuvering that I am surely going to lose my license very soon if I don't do something. Everything else on the highway just seems to be standing still.

I'm also having one heck of a time keeping the rev's below 5,500 - "whooops that was 6,500 on that downshift there after just a second or two of throttle. Jeez, and I'm doing 120... better slow down..."

I'm starting to like SMG a lot, and the brakes are monumental. The problems are not at speed, but at low speeds around town the SMG (or me) is still jerky, and the brakes are grabby. I'll write a more detailed report soon...
