If you mean newer LCI headlights ... yes I've done it (granted my car is not 2005) ... for properly done you'll need newer Light Control Module (LM2) you'll need the headlights (of course) + the taillights and BMW OEM retrofit wiring ... after that you have to re-wire the plugs 'cuz they are different ... and finally do some coding.

Just remember ... your headlights are Xenon and likely Adaptive the link is about halogen.

As far as conversion cable ... as I've done this before ... I would recommend cut the wires and replace the plug to avoid any potential problem ... but hey that's just me.

Well it depends ... if you know get around setting things up it's not difficult but if you mess things up you could render killing some of your car module(s) ... since this conversion you have to change your Vehicle Order (VO) which is the DNA map of how your car born.

Well your local dealer is clueless ... the conversion is actually came from BMW as an official OEM retrofit the manual, the cable kit etc ... all has BMW part number.

They probably afraid of amount of work it has to be done ... but if you going with dealer such conversion could cost you a lot of money.
