Please can someone help - I took delivery of my lovely new M5 a couple of months ago (it's individual blue onyx + full champagne leather package), it's lovely in every respect bar a really irritating problem.

Every time I drive on rough surfaces especially when going slowly I get a creaking sound from the rear of the car as if the whole car if flexing. The noise stops when I release the pressure on all 4 windows by dabbing quickly on all 4 electric window controls, This does work but then later on I have to suffer the wind noises associated with a window not fully shut! so I can only assume it's the glass rubbing up on the felt window seals - HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS? - and if so can it be fixed? I've tried a silicon lubricant onto the top of the glass, but it didn't work and made a mess.

I think the door seals are your problem, this has been and, is ,a common problem on e60s . Cleaning the rubber gaskets and adjoining body contact points should help, I would also reco waxing the body contact points..... if you check the search section here you;ll find several post concerning this....... Good Luck

Door seals are not the problem this time. There are many cases of rear deck creaking discussed here and your SA will know about it and get the rear deck lid refitted properly. It can be cured. I had it with my 545i. You do not have to live with this nuisance.

If the creaks dissapear when you wind the windows down a fraction, then it is caused by the glass rubbing against the material around the inner frame. Tell the dealership of this and they'll apply some appropriate lubricant around the area. It'll be ok for a few months then you'll need to reapply.

The rear shelf creak sounds like 'sticky plastic'...if you know what i mean. you can fix that by jamming soft cloth between the rear shelf and the back seat section.

I have the same issue on my 535d, it's definitely the rear parcel shelf (I guess what you call the rear deck). Car is in the garage tomorrow for a couple of things, this is on the list !
