The one day school starts at 8:30 am with about 1 hour of classroom discussion. The rest of the day is all about driving! We got done at about 4:45pm and there is plenty of hard driving throughout the day.

It looks like they book about 16-18 students per class. For each of the six driving sessions there are 3 sets of cars (M3s, M5s, and M6s) ... with one instructor leading each group out to a specific part of the track. It's a very efficient set-up and you feel like you get plenty of instruction and plenty of seat time.
Did you take notes? Share with us some cool tips. Congrats for passing .
Do they have an online course? J/k

You summed it up very well. I did it myself in 2005. Well worth it. E60 M5s/e63 M6s and E46 M3s back then.

My favorite ride of the day was like this one in Phoenix yellow.

that is soo cool! correct me if im wrong but does bmw throw the driving school in for free sans airfare and accomodations, when u buy a brand new M3/M5/M6?
It's called the "M-Driving Experience" class for those who buy a brand new M5 and M6 ... but NOT an M3. The class, food, and hotel are complimentary. All you pay for is your airfare to and from. Total cost for my trip: $300!

Pretty much 90% of Tachyon's experience in the 1-Day M-School was exactly what I experienced last December. I was contemplating a 1-Day M-School, but I'm thinking a 2-Day would be more worth it ... someday. Tachyon's right, though ... those instructors will scare the sh&t out of you in showing off what those M-cars can really do! And they will also preach their preferred M-Drive settings for the M5 and M6: P500 / EDC1 / MDM.

It seems that BMW has extended the class to all new BMW buyers and leasers......I received this in an e-mail from BMWNA a few days ago:

"We would like to apologize for the error in a recent email you received regarding the BMW Performance Driving School invitation. To sign up for this special offer use your registration number below. Buy or lease a new BMW now and we?ll enroll you in a free, One-Day Car Control School, at the BMW Performance Driving School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. And if you lease or finance through BMW Financial Services, we?ll include two nights? accommodations as well.

To sign up, call 1-866-744-4BMW.

Or, sign up online at bmwownersreturn.com and enter your registration number."

I did this class back in 2006 and every time I think about it I get a big grin on my face. Thanks to the OP for bringing back the memories! I HIGHLY recommend this to every enthusiast.

I got the same email Eric but it looks like it's for their "regular" driving school and not the M driving school.

I waited over a year before I finally decided to schedule my 1 day complimentary M driving course... just kept putting it off... When I finally called I had to beg them to schedule me in... they said I waited too long but somehow I was able to get them to fit me in... Without a doubt one of the best experiences I've ever had..
Definitely worth the effort! Just don't be an idiot like me and wait too long..
