LOL. I don't think it's 10K. Somewhere in the low to mid 1K range.
I don't know about spending money for any kind of hood. It doesn't do much for me. I minus will just draw some lines on it with a sharpie. Even CF is ugly in my opinion.

Not bad, it's pretty subtle though. I'd probably go with the vorsteiner hood if I were to bother.
From what I can see, they're just vents, so a bodyshop could do a custom job on the OEM hood to save a little money.
I'm not a fan of CF hoods either, but they should be lighter and they can be painted, so the look shouldn't dissuade anyone. Exposed CF on black cars looks really good IMO, and you save money on paint.

I've seen and handled the Vorsteiner CF hood for the e90. I asked Darwin from SonicMS how much lighter the CF hood is than the stock. It was only a FEW pounds lighter. To me a few pounds is like 10 lbs. Definitely, not worth $1500 for 10 lb saving. The SonicMS guys are always trying to convince me into buying one. NEVER.

Yeah, a CF hood is mostly just for looks, but it doesn't hurt that it's lighter. I doubt the weight savings would be noticeable and would especially be lost on a big car like the e60.
The CF hood by itself would just be for looks, but if you get a lot of light weight parts, then the weight savings would add up and could be beneficial. A CF hood ~10lbs saved, CF bootlid ~10lbs, titanium exhaust ~20-30lbs, flywheel, lightweight battery, lose the spare tire, lightweight forged rims.....That could add up to over a 100lbs lighter.
Unless you're after the looks though, I wouldn't bother on an e60. If I was looking to mod a smaller, sportier car like an M3, than it might make sense.

Isn't that why they put a carbon fiber roof on the M6, to lower the center of gravity.

Yes, but even so as you can see the weight saving isn't astonishing. IMO there is a line where if you want to go more or save more weight your start to pay seriously big $$$. The M6 was never a place to start with. Hell put some carbon brakes and you get ALOT more weight savign than 5 CF roofs.
Agree, but I believe its not about general weight loss, but rather losing the wait up top. To reduce body roll, lower center of gravity. Better handling vs. weight loss for better acceleration.

BTW, you can only get this Rad hood if you have Rad wheels, so don't bother asking. HAHAHA J/K
I think the Vorsteiner hood will complement your other mod nicely. If you only want looks, you can go for their DVWP version instead of the single or double-sided carbon fiber.
