Yeah it does a little bit. But compared the the vorstiener it's made of aluminum and not fiberglass. Can't go wrong with either.

Why wouldn't they try to make it lighter than stock? I mean that would really help the sales, besides asking a price only to give you some cut-outs in a stock hood.
