My new M5 arrived yesterday afternoon. I've just been out for my first blast in it and love it already. It's not perfect - The DAB radio can't pick up a signal, so it's back to the dealer's on Monday. There is no USB cable provided, and BMW's one is ?40, believe it or not. The iPod integration is pretty poor. And of course the fuel disappears so fast I'd better check for a leak (I'd better get used to that). I've already had several thumbs-up from other drivers at the lights, though, so I'm glad that the dealer talked me out of a 550.

If we drop ours, it will look like this one...What do you say? This one has spacers, 10mm rear, 12mm front. I already have that part covered, but dropping it is a tough call. It certainly looks beastly, though.
I love the look Doc. However my broker tells me that in this part of the world lowering the beastie would make it pretty well uninsurable . My premiums, living as I do in the wilds of East London, are already astronomical.

East London......good luck!!!!

I'd sleep in it at night if it were mine.

Lovely looking car though, i'll look out for a silver blur through Docklands!!!!

Congrats on the new beast!

You guys with the '08s please help me with this. Well, it's actually for my friend. He has an 08 and has no clue if he has the iPod integration or not. He just traded his GT3 for a slightly used 2008 M5 and was told it was loaded. Is the cable (assuming it's included), in the glove box? If you have this option, you don't have the CD changer anymore right? That was my case when I got the iPod integration kit installed; they took out my CD changer. Right now, he's just plugging his iPod into his aux input.

Tony, the cables aren't in the glove box, they're in the center console. Where in the car is he plugging in the AUX input? In my 08 with the iPod (6FL option) kit, both the USB and AUX inputs are located next to each other at the bottom of the center console where the hidden air vent used to be in my old '06 550.

Thanks Roel. He's plugging it in the aux input that's behind the center console facing the rear passengers. I'll have him look into that lower compartment. Thanks man.

Life Cycle Impulse: basically refers to the facelift/changes to the '08 models. Definitely a few threads on this topic as well...
