Question New E60 M5 Owner

Hi everybody!

I just recently purchased a 2006 E60 M5 with SMG. The car was really well-maintained, and all the main maintenance was taken care of. (rod bearing, vano hp lines, engine mount, throttle actuator rebuild, belts... etc.)

There are a couple things I look to do to the car... exhaust upgarde maybe.. bmc air filter change, headlight light bulbs upgrade? headunit upgrade and need aux conversion

For the exhaust, i'm considering a muffler delete or eisenmann? not sure if muffler delete will be too loud

Can someone help me understand which light bulbs wll be needed and if I need to remove the whole headlight units to upgrade the bulbs and such

Also for the headunit upgrade what parts do I need for 1. the headunit itself, aux kit?, and aux aux activator?

Also my windshield wiper fluid stopped working, i'm not sure if its the pump or a fuse pop. Does anyone which fuse it is? is it in the glovebox or is there another one in the trunk?

Are there any other upgrade needed?

Thanks everyone

Regarding the head unit, what do you want out of it? I personally like OEM so I upgraded to a CIC unit (just for the higher-resolution screen) and then installed a Mr12Volt system for wireless CarPlay. They do make a version for CCC (which you probably have) as well and that would be the easiest/cheapest option. Frankly, I don't think the increased resolution from the CIC upgrade would really even make much of a difference.

so if I buy a mr12volt unit I don't need to do a aux conversion or whatever? or do I still need to do a system flash and run a aux?
