Before i bought my M5 ( im 23 ) i went through a slideshow of m5 accidents.. this was one of them, and really hit a nerve.. THEY FLEW 200ft airborne at an estimated 120mp/h.. WOW.. thats sickening..

Be safe man, IF you do get the m5, dont drive around like an idiot, take your time and get acquianted. there is 507 hp in that beast.

if gas is a concern, dont get an M5. Get a V8 e60 if u want a bigger car. If u want a smaller car and quicker car, get the 335. U can get the JB+ or JB3 and be neck to neck with the new M3s

+1 the m5 is a monster. Obviously your dad has fairly unlimited resources to be able to buy you an m5 at 17 but what's the point? What is there to aspire to? I would get the 335 and wait until you establish yourself and buy the m5 with your own money or at worst have your dad buy it for you later in life. To be honest there is not a 17 year old in the world that belongs in an m5. I'm 28 and own a transportation and logistics company and at times drove 100k+ miles yearly and my m5 still scares the crap out of me on occassion. The 335 is a great car and is much more age appropriate. ..............

Having said that get the m5 FTW you're gonna come off as a spoiled rich kid either way so you might as well make it worth it

depending on how old u r, I wouldn't get an M5 as a second car. In 2003 when I was still in college, I bought the first Evo 8 that landed in NY. That was my fifth car but I always had cars that wasn't THAT quick. It took time to get used to. Hafta drive it carefully. Now that car had 350 whp which meant over 400 at the fly. It's was FREAKIN quick. Dont go crazy with 500+ hp if this is your second car or if you're 17 unless you take some racing driving courses which can teach you how to manuever the beast in an emergency. It's NOT easy to control an out-of-control 500+ monster.

I imagine your insurance would be around 600-700 a MONTH in the m5.
