Dealer here has an 06 M5 with less than break in mileage (around 800, car was delivered in late 05). Pretty much fully optioned and am considering changing the 545 for it. Thing is it looks like they are going to base the deal on MSRP. I haven't been following M5 prices closely of late, should a used (albeit lightly) M5, over six months old, still be at original price? I suspect the original owner paid over sticker (and it is an awesome car/spec) but what do you guys think? Dealer seems like a guy I can work with, but re pricing I'm not sure that pricing now is what it was then. Any thoughts or opinions?

Well, normally I'd say go outside of CA, or at least San Jose - that's the most expensive M5 area in the country. You should definitely be able to get a better price elsewhere. But if the dealer is working with you on the 545 you might not have much choice. Big tax savings if you can trade-in. Good luck.

Thanks Wolverine - appreciate the reply. I suspect you're absolutely right.

There is no such thing as tax saving for trade-in like other states. That sucks big time.
I saw a used M5 at Stevens Creek BMW, but they still ask for MSRP. WFH are they thinking. I guess they're smoking dope.
They best thing is call Dave Parker (Internet Sale) for this deal to see what he said.

I was actually offered by a private seller a used m5 with 2000 miles for 1500 below the original MSRP. It was a month ago but PM me if you're interested.

Yah you can do better than that. I see them on e-bay from other dealers and most of them are priced below original sticker even if they only have a few hundred miles on them. Tell him you will walk if he doesn't deal with you.

You can get a new one at MRSP at Wheatherford, ask for Grace Wong. Just say you know Danny.
