Got good new today. My M5 is now in production. I should have VIN by middle of this week. This is a full 2 weeks early.

Wolverine, you need to check your production# today. I suspect that your car will also be produced this week.

Checking at the BMW tracking site:

https://oc.bmwusa.com/oe/body.asp?VehicleSi...oeacctsetup.asp

I get my status as "On Order", not yet in production. Do you have any way to get a more updated status?

Hey,
This is probably a very stupid question... but how do you get access to the owners circle?
I remember buying a new bmw once, and they sent me a welcome letter or sorts with a pin number on it - along with the vin. How do get on with no vin?

thanks!

You can click on the website I posted above. However, if you don't have either a VIN or a production number, you're not an 'owner' and can't get access to the 'owners circle'.

You have to call BMWNA at (800) 831-1117. Ask for customer relationship. Give them your production number. They will check the status for you. The web site is way behind.

interesting. i also have a week37.
i checked the status of my car last Friday, and it was "order sent to factory". i'll check again Wed when i am bringing my E39 in for service.

do you know if this mean your can will also arrive US earlier?

according to my dealer (Toronto, Canada), all the first batch M5 (Sept. production) will arrive Canada at the same time. do you know if that's the same for American M5s?

I would hope that my car will now arrive sooner since it is being build a full 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

My car is the 1st car at the dealership. May be that is the reason why it is being build 1st so that 1st batch of M5 will arrive in same time in US. Or it could be that silver grey is probably the most popular M5 color that BMW find easier to build all of them at once.

You need to check with your dealer. Because about a week after receiving the production number, I already had a production date (which as about 3 weeks ago).
