M6 Laps the Ring in 8:09

Hi Friends:
The latest Roundel indicates that the M6 has lapped the Ring in 8:09 seconds--which puts the M6 in pretty select company. BMW engineers believe it could get close to 8:00 without the governor. Here are some selected "confirmed" Ring results.

Those times aren't that relevant imo. Some times are achived with super proffesional racind drivers while some are not. And the time for the SL 55 amg is strange. A sl 55 amg can't possibly do better than the m6 on a track.

McLaren did most of the tuning of the car, the engine, the suspension, the weight distribution, the chassis... Then mercedes came along and added the armchair leather seats, the automatic transmission and generally extra weight to the car.
Still a very nice car.
