WOW....from a few simple sightings and a light comment about the economy in the China, way beyond my intent, you guys had a bunch of interesting things to say!
We have a bright group on this forum for sure. I am an Chinese art dealer in Manhattan who speaks Mandarin with some 30 years in the business.
I travel to China 4 or 5 times a year for a total stay of about 2 full months, if you add it all up. I first went to China when all you saw were bicycles, trucks and buses. The hotels were bugged and buggy. The food was inedible. Over time, I literally watched Shanghai get torn down into a lung choking pile of dust and rebuilt into an amazing 21st Century metropolis.
Anyway, I enjoyed tremendously reading what some of you see going on as well.
