All BMW are 50 state emission certified. So there is nothing need to be done. Just simply drive your car to DMV and the CARB certification is right on the car. No need to get it smogged again.

I used to drink a lot of free beer in MI 78'-79', betting on how many states there are in the U.S. and which are the newest ones...

But seriously, BMW M5 certs seem to manage even the California standards and that is nice
