Don?t misunderstand us - we do really like people who cares about BMW M5 and share information with us.

BUT if you compare the " news " about the M5 manual, to old news, these news are actually older than old ancient news..................... JK, not so old actually......

BTW, IMO the M5 manual tranny really sucks!

Cidair,
Please stop inspiring us Your good opinion about M5 will cost E60 forum members millions of dollars
Now I want one , but I need to test drive to find out how bad low-end torque is.

Do you like to rev your car? If yes then you don't need to bother about low end torque....for sure it will not be a diesel at 1-2000rpms and for sure it will be less accesible (peak performance) in day to day traffic. But for the rest of it....

PS: Sent you a pm regarding the paddle kit. What happened?

It is 1.25 years old.........

The attached document is dated July 28, 2005.

It was posted here shortly after that day.
I downloaded it August 15, 2005 from the forum.

It says under Transmission:

Transmission: 7 Speed, Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) with shift mapping control similar to the current M3. This transmission is a first for the industry and includes 7th gear as an overdrive, making for some impressive fuel efficiency at typical American highway speeds. (Actual EPA figures TBD) Note: a 6 speed manual transmission will be available for the M5 in September of 2006.

Haha cidair you'd better not mess with the re-post police and especially Iceman. You don't stand a chance. Ask IrishEyes!

600Nm? Oh man, you need to go to chiropractor(?) once a month to check up your neck That's why those stupid politicians here do not want diesel here. They are too old and afraid of snapping their neck and might die soon. This will enable their wife to be rich from life insurance, and marry another man. Diesel is not a good choice for US politician
