M5 iPod (6FL option) vs 545i AUX (w/circuit removed)

The iPod integration is great on my new 2008 M5 Premium Sound but doesn?t sound as good as the AUX input (w/circuit board removed) on my 2005 545i with Logic 7. The 545i had the best fidelity factory sound system I have ever heard!

When playing a CD in the M5 the fidelity is excellent but the iPod sound is sort of ?dull? comparatively. I removed the integration connectors looking for the filter circuit board that I might remove but saw nothing at that end of the cabling.

Are any of you experiencing similar results?

But you had the logic 7 in the previous e60, compare the ipod usb to aux input, both with logic 7. It seems like an unfair comparison without that....
