Jealousy...

Alright so my friend just got an M5..... He wasn't too excited about it. I know, sounds like he's crazy right? But in all fairness, he had his dream car taken away from him. An '08 M3 coupe. His parents wanted a four door so he really had no choice. He literally had the M3 in his garage and then his parents made the decision to trade it. You'll never guess what he got the '08 M5 for though, that lucky bastard. 20,000 miles and he bought it for $50,000 Canadian which is $49,000 US. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, never winter driven. Sorry for not knowing the exact name of the paint but it is that maroon colour. The same as the member with the plate [M 5EXIER] (sorry that I don't know your forum name, too lazy to look it up ). Black leather interior with silver trim (he wanted a wood trim). But I called him up after he got it, told me that he took it for a drive, and it sounds like he's starting to grow a love for the M5. I just hope that I can sell my 530xi and get an M5 of my own... Just figured I'd share that with you guys. Oh and he is looking to get a vanity plate. Any suggestions? Something clever would be great.

Get your buddy into some kind of racing driving program, before we have another mama's boy popping buck forty on residential blocks. Alright, and no jealousy - just dumbfounded that any parents would give such a beast to a kid - don't they realize the amount of responsibility is practically insurmountable at an early age to be able to drive an M5 on public streets safely? I don't know... I hope your buddy is careful and takes a racing school or two to be sure to know the difference between track and road

Hey thanks for mentioning me The color is called Indianapolis red. He has the exact same color combo as me (Indy Red on Black with aluminum trim). I too was hoping for wood trim, but I must say the aluminum has been growing on me.
