Maybe it has something to do with the temperature inside and outside of the car? When it's cold outside you might have this "fogginess" (sorry, don't know how you call it) on your front window when you start the car and it clears up when the a/c has blown it away. Just a thought...

I have noticed exactly the same problem - but I have noticed it tends to happen when going under a bridge or through a tunnel or something. Might be down to the light sensor.
