Just wanted to offer my two cents...I have always been a BIIG block seasoning kinda guy. I usually take several 20-30 mile trips from a cold engine to operating temp back to cold if possible in between. From what I remember about physics, the slow and intermittant heating and cooling of metal leads to a harder metal rather than a brittle metal. Whether you take a long or short trip, the operating temperature is mostly constant. You accomplish the same thing but a lot longer mileage to accomplish it by taking a long trip. By that I mean a long trip is equivalent in my "seasoning" mind as a short one. The metal gets warm, expands, wears then cools and contracts again. I have had several cars including a 1987 944T, a 1996 C36, a 2002 Z06 and have had all of them for a couple hundered thousand miles with no evidence of internal problems or oil usage. You can do what you want. Its your car. I am just giving you my two cents.

I just got my M5 this past Saturday, and during a "spirited" driving Sunday...I accidentally hit 145mph...How much damage did or could I have done to my car? It has 200 miles now...I just didn?t realize it was just this fast?
