My Ride: (E60) 535D M-Sport (DMS)
Default

I know i can't swear on here so i'll just say F*****G HELL!!!!!!.

I'm certainly no M5 expert having only had the car for 5 days but i've just had DMS apply their M5 re-map to my car & it's now possibly the most bonkers car on the planet (exluding other DMS M5's of course).

This re-map has been written about in many UK Motoring Mags (very rare for the UK motoring press to show even a fleating interest in modifications) & being raved about & it's no wonder, the car has been totally transformed.

Given my limited knowledge & experience of M5's i'll not comment on the possible advantages, just those i've experienced over the 40mile drive i've just returned homw from & that started the minute James from DMS had finished on my drive.

The re-map is applied to both P400 & P500 modes & increases the torque by about 60nm in gears 3 through 7 again in both gearbox modes (1st & 2nd are locked down by BMW) & of course it increases overall torque by 60nm as well as a power hike to 448BHP & 538BHP respectivley.

It actually feels that P400 is very close to how P500 felt & P500 now feels mental fast. The gear changes are a little more crisp in the higher settings & actually a little softer in the lower settings. The mapping alters the gearing behavior a touch just smoothing out those tiny little rough spots.

No idea if the economy has improved as i was driving a little quickly but DMS reckon i'll get an extra 2-3mpg across the board.

I've used DMS before on my 535d M-Sport & could not recommend them highly enough before, but needless to say that feeling continues & anyone that fancies that little bit extra, it's well worth it. I believe they now provide a service in the US & i know DMS in the UK have travelled to Vegas a couple of times to get information on the US M5's so they can make one available over their.

As per my initial report, i'll post a more detailed report when i get back from Nurburgring on the 29th May.

Cheers, the dealer removed the wood trim & fitted brushed aluminium (did an excellent job) as part of the purchase price (cost me nothing).

I will post some piccies, but as of yet it's still raining in the North of England & i do keep driving the car so she is now very dirty. Will try to get some taken over the weekend & post.

Off to Germany (Nurburgring) on Tuesday so i'll see fully what she's capable of.
