Apparently not by what 700700 has mentioned. I would have thought that with the 2007s it wouldn't be an issue any longer. I thought wrong.

No. This did not happen to me with a 2007 M5. I'm just taking 700700 on his word that this "red cog of death" still hasn't been totally resolved. Usually, BMW or any other car manufacturer for that matter, will fix whatever is wrong from the previous MY with the new MY model.

search for MY2008 on m5board... i was talking to a couple of people with 2007 cars and they stated that generally the issue has not been resolved, since BMW is still not 100% sure as to whats quite wrong with the smg tranny

yes i do.. first deliveries should be around the third week of march 2007. Soft-close doors are an option, otherwise its same as the facelifted E60... led lights etc.
