I think that as the foremost E60 discussion area on the planet, that all E60 owners, registered on this forum, should be given complimentary test drives in the new M5 when it arrives.

C'mon Lomag/Das. sort it out!!

in fact, i think it's not a bad idea . bmw will definitely "lure" more buyers. some of us might think m5 is out of reach but will save up all breakfast, lunch, and dinner money to get it after the test drive .

in the UK not all dealers get allocated M'cars, was speaking to my dealer yesterday and he said all the M'car UK dealers have been told their allocation is 4 cars each next year, and most dealers have waiting lists of 20 cars or more for the M5. I was hoping for a test drive next year in the UK but I get the feeling there will be no cars available to test in.

will have to find one of the lucky owners and see if they are open to bribes

This time 2 years ago I picked up my RS Focus. At the time I was part of a very good www.focusrs.co.uk. The guys there got us a group test drive arranged by Ford at the Top Gear test track.

They laid on 5 RS's, about 10 ST170's, and the day included advanced driving techniques, race training and some of us got taken round the track by ZE STIG!! We never got to meet the big Clarkson himself though. After he slated the car on telly, I think he got scared we'd vent our frustrations on him.

We got badges, brochures, competitions, and even got fed.

Now I'm not saying this is possible on this forum as we're all over the world. The RS forum was purely UK based. We had a few guys from other countries but it was all european.

A point to note. The guys who started the forum (Stu and Lou - very nice guys) started to source special deals for the members on insurance, merchandise, and mods, and from that they now have their own tuning and mods company that's bringing in the big $$.
