I know we talked alot about RPI scoops and bmw filters w/ block off plates and stuff. But wouldn't you think that the cold air intakes like Afe or K&N will be better cuz even though hp gain is about the same but the sound will also get much better and they look nicer? I am thinking of going with one of the cold air intake system. Does anyone have em on their M5's? Any issues with the Emission systems (MIL's)? Maybe we could still add on the rpi scoops to the intake system neway. what ya say?

Dont waste your time and money with aFe? You'll be disappointed. Do a search on "afe HAI", you'll see what I mean.

How does the Dinan Carbon fiber intake work?.. Do you like it? what are the HP gains? what about the sound? where did you get it from and how much did you pay? any trouble codes?

John rpi scoops and block off plates i know give u a gain but only at higher speeds wouldn't you say that the cold air intakes would give a boost even a lower speeds? ... ne ideas?

why at higher speeds would you think any HAI would give an increase? The problem happens both at low and high speeds, heat soak from the engine bay. Engine bay temp does not decrease as you increase speed....
