The range is what has been holding me back...I need it to be in the low 300s to keep me from having to stop for gas more than once a week. If BMW would only put in a bigger tank!

Realisticly I want gas to be $10 a gallon here in the US. It should help to clear people off the roads on the weekend so there is more room to drive...

wow, I will be doing mostly city driving too. At 11mpg city, this is gonna be rough. Maybe thats why most folks opt for the E92 M3?
How can a Gallardo get better gas mileage at 12/20 mpg

You know I really don't think the MPG is bad for a 200mph+ car.
I do around 40,000miles a year and to be fair most of it IS on the motorway. OK remember I'm uk gallons, so larger than US. I've played lot's to see what the best MPG is. Rather than just try a short distance I've reset the MPG counter and stuck to 70mph in P400 for 50 miles and and again in P500. DOne this at 67, 75 and 80 and each time P500 IS gives better mpg. maybe necause there is more torque?
If reset on the motorway a drive of 100 miles at 70ish will see me doing around 27mpg
If reset on the motorway a drive of 100 miles at 80ish will see me doing around 24mpg
In reality I still manage an average of around 20mpg a week. I reset at weekends.... manage around 10mpg for the weekend.....
Out of interest for the non UK owners here, there is marvel of the modern world here called the M6 Toll road. It's always nice and empty and you only need to lift off slightly for a few corners, and thats with the limiter off I manage 7mpg along this road.......

Maybe i should try it sometime, only live down the road. I heard there's no cop on that road.
Or maybe you can try M69, free of charge. I did 145 a few years back in my 323i, but that was 4 in the morning.
